I tried the following on my Sprint 8330 (OS 4.5.0.131) to no avail:
Profiles > Advanced > Normal profile >
this is where I would expect to see Voicemail as an option, then I could hit the BB menu key > Edit, and change the alert tone.

But there is no Voicemail option.

I tried changing
Level 1 Messages,
Messenger - Alert, and
Messenger - New Message,
but none of these changed the voicemail alert tone to the desired Notifier_Nymph alert tone

Anyone know how to change the voicemail alert tone?

here is a work around to disable the VM alert tone. i haven't tried it because i don't have the need...

Those options are for BBM only. Look at the link Chrisy posted, you'll find what you need.

Apparently for some RIM devices the Voicemail alert = the SMS alert

This seems a bit archaic

Are there any third party programs that allow users to set an alert tone for voicemails that is different from the SMS alert tone?

(then I could use the link Chrisy posted to turn off the SMS notification for voicemail messages)
