You don't. There are tons of free apps ranging from GPS and
mapping, memo pad replacements, Bibles, translation software,
weather apps, and the list goes on and on .
You really haven't looked all that hard, have you?

agreed, 90% of the apps on my phone were free.....and most of the paid apps had trials so that you could decide if you like the app enough to buy it or not....

Seriously look a little bit harder. People on here report on how great their free apps work constantly. You have a lot of searching to do. There are plenty, and I mean plenty.

Do some searching on these so you can at least find the links to where to get them from.

    Yahoo! Go
    CaputureIt
    Google Maps
    CB Launcher
    WeatherBug (Direct)
    Opera Mini
    Viigo
    Myspace
    Facebook

    And the list continues...

Another good place to look for free apps is Mobile Software and Games for your PDA or Smartphone : Handango. Choose your phone model and click on All Apps on the far right, then sort on Price-Low to High and you'll find a boatload of goodies.

    Nav4All for GPS
KeePass password keeper (stores on SD card)
Several games on the Blackberry site (Blackjack, Sudoku...).
MobiPocket book reader (some free books there).

The list just keeps growing. I guess it just matters what you are looking for. If you keep looking, you'll see lots of free stuff popping out of the woodwork.

Thanks! I have seen MaraTick before and installed it, but it looked like it was just a task list. Now that I have used it some I see how easily in can be used for a shopping list.

Unfortunately BerryUnitConverter is only available OTA, which I cannot do (no data plan). If anyone knows of another free unit converter, please let me know.

I am still looking for a good RPN calc and a shoe mileage tracker.
