When there is a new notification and you get that little notification or email icon, you also get a little bit of text from the notification. And when you press it once, it says "Tap to open" and then it would take you to read the full notification/email.

But sometimes you already know everything you need to know from that notification but just by seeing the title or the short clipped text. So I am wondering if there is a way to just mark it read straight from the lock screen and have the icon removed, without having to open the notification full text and then going back out?

Instead of tapping the notification to open it... hold your finger down on it and a sidebar will appear giving you the option to"mark read."

This can be done from the Hub but not from the lock screen.

True! (I shouldn't answer these until i'm awake.) My Bad> and thanks for pointing that out.
I "think" the only options are to have the notices show as they are or not at all. I don't believe there's a way to customize it.

But, it's the weekend.so it's slow! Someone will come along and offer the help you need.

It's not possible to do it from the lock screen currently.
