How ARP Binding can prevent BIS connection through Wi-Fi
- I'm not sure how many users have routers with Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) Binding capabilities, but I guess this should be helpful to those who have exhausted almost every solution to get BIS working through Wi-Fi.
I got a new router recently and for the life of me could not figure out why BIS was not connected through Wi-Fi. My Storm2 could connect to the router with no problems, but never got through to BIS.
So I noticed there is a "IP and MAC binding" function in my router, and just as I was about to give up, I found that the IP address given to my device was not bound to the correct MAC address. I promptly entered my S2's MAC to the assigned IP, and in less than a minute my Wi-Fi icon lit up in its full white glory.
I have not disabled the ARP function to try if it will work across the board, so if it works for you do contribute by posting your findings. Thanks.10-04-10 04:15 AMLike 0
