I would like to see BlackBerry make a mini laptop smartphone. It would have the highest quality build and specs. A physical keyboard and on screen keyboard. Screen size of about 6". Many people carry a tablet or laptop and phone, so combine the features of all 3. It needs to have a hdmi input or equivalent of to view on a HD TV. I believe this would be a huge hit. What say you?

No. PlayBook flopped, no matter what anyone says. Let them get back on their feet solidly before wasting money.

The company can hardly get phones to market, yet you want them to try their hand at gimmicks? You must be new to Blackberry.

Yes I know, another option would be to remove the physical keyboard on the Passport and replace it with more screen space and sell an optional wireless keyboard. Or just upgrade the Z30 to say a 5.5 or 6" screen.

Just trying to come up with something new no one else offers. No I am not new to BlackBerry. The PlayBook was half baked and has little resemblance to what I'm talking about. Most tablets are Wi-Fi only. What if the Passport had screen space where the keyboard was and had the option to view a square format or turn it horizontal and view in a movie format using multiple formats. Is this possible and is it being done on other devices?

That the first I've heard about this. Come to think about it, some company made a dock and larger screen for their phone awhile back, don't remember who.

Some would say that the Passport was a bad idea or gimmick. I guess you would have BlackBerry give up. I like innovative technology, not the same old boring safe stuff other companies put out. I'm glad you don't run BlackBerry.

You're talking about a tablet with cell call capabilities and Bluetooth keyboard. No one had one. The tablet with phone is not ad usable as a cell phone when on the go.

It wouldn't be for everyone, just people who want one device to do what your phone, tablet and laptop will do. 6" screen or less and can be viewed on your HD TV.

To be fair he never suggested that BlackBerry should give up, but now or in the near future BlackBerry is not in the position to pursue risky business adventures.

How about a phone that opens up to a tablet. A while back there was a concept drawing of a phone, here is the picture.

How about a mini smartphone laptop-anastasiadis-slider-small.jpg

What if this phone opened up? They have the flexible glass now? Just a thought.

That Atrix dock was ahead of its time. There was also a multimedia dock for it for TV.
