Has anyone made a homemade charging dock or stand for your bb? I tried searching but couldnt find anything.

I did once try building a dock using LEGO bricks for my Pearl 8110 with broken charging port. Using copper wire (for audio) I made the contacts, but the project ended there as I had no miniUSB port handy to mod for the +5V and GND points. I didn't feel like sacrificing an OEM charger for that either, but 5V and 500mA/700mA should be good.

I had lots of problems making the Pearl sit in my custom dock properly, but a bit of building later my LEGO bricks turned out to be reliable

Ive seen all the diy iphone docks, but none will really fit the bb. Cant really think of anything else and its just not worth buying one.

They can be gotten for 14 dollars on amazon. It would be a heck of a lot easier and cheaper(time is money) to buy one.

Good point, spending/wasting time on this is really unnecessary in my opinion, specially when docks are not that expensive and are widely available. But oh well, if you have the time, go for it.

I got bored and made a really fancy one with cardboard and silver duct tape. It was pretty cool until I spilled coffee on it.

I ended up just ordering a dock off ebay. That paperclip stand looks pretty sturdy though.
