I tried searching for this but could not find any info.
I have a curve 8330 and verizon as the service provider. When I launch the Internet browser it comes up with vz start and in red "top downloads" and a bunch of options for news, sports, etc. I will most likely never use these.
My question is can you change it that when you launch this application that it can open to your Yahoo or google home page? and if so does it have to work with a certain op system? I am still running 4.3.0.127
Navigate to your preferred home page first, then follow the directions in Skullgame45 post. At the bottom of the page, there is a button for Use Current.
Any page you open up in your browser, you can bookmark or make your home page from the BB menu. To set your home page, hit navigate to the page you want, hit the BB button, select options, browser configuration, and at the very bottom of the menu is an option to use the current page.
FYI here's the best start page ever.. cantoni's bookmark..

Mine doesn't have the "use current" button anymore and I can't edit it since uploading to 4.5?
I have to admit, I miss having my preferred home screen too after installing the upgrade. I answered this question as I did, because the OP is not affected by this change.

Hmm I just changed my home page to the above with the "use current" button on my Pearl, OS 4.5.0.77... wonder if it's blackberry model-specific?
