Coz on blackberry you can already let them play on in the background? That's what I do with fastube anyway, one of the things I will miss when it's priv/dtek50 time.

The reason why YouTube won't play in the background on iOS and Android is because they have an official YouTube app, which blocks background play unless you have YouTube Red. BB10 doesn't have a YouTube app and uses the web shortcut. If you use the web shortcut on iOS with Safari or on Android with Firefox it will play in the background.

With BlackBerry 10, you could get the Youtube Red features of adblocking, background playability, and video download for $3 lifetime with either Supertube or Fasttube.

Youtube Red will cost you $10 MONTHLY.

I think I will keep my "non official" Youtube apps on BlackBerry 10.

That's great, but let's not kid ourselves that BB10 has some super multitasking ability that allows videos to play in the background. Has nothing to do with that.

And I was not saying that either. All I am saying is that I actually prefer that there is no official Youtube app on BlackBerry 10.

Either try NewPipe (from F-Droid) or OGYouTube (from xda) and you'll be happy.
