So I have a Z10 to sell and I go on kijiji to get an idea what price they are selling for. And I come across this ad, 'Trade in your BlackBerry for an iPhone + warranty' along with a picture of an old BlackBerry and 'VS' iPhone with the caption 'Don't fight. Switch'

Really? I'm so tired of the ignorance, BS misinformation and the willful misleading of people.

I responded to the ad and told them just what I thought of it.

It's definitely not good for Blackberry if the aim of the promotion is to only switch BB customers to ios devices. It implies that there is something wrong with customers who still own BBRY devices.

All ads wanting you to switch products are designed to make you feel there is something wrong with THE PRODUCT (assuming it's something wrong with you, is the result of being way too attached to your phone brand).

most people who are truly satisfied, or feel the other product has no advantage, or are devoted to the brand, they won't switch. So don't worry about it.

Especially in this case.The battle/fight is LONG over. People have migrated away from BB, and even if they wanted to, they can't keep using it forever - stockpiling aside. This ad is only interesting in that it openly acknowledges that - it's aimed at the diehards who remain. I think it's not a bad tactic. Don't know how may who remain will switch - they're pretty extreme cases, but might as well hit them with a completely up-front appeal. If this helps them pick up a little bigger share of legacy users who are upgrading, then....well done.What more can be said?
