You don't need 4 other programs, just DM. Do you have problems adding apps and other themes as well, or just the new theme you made?

I just started using Plazmic and found out the hard way that you should test your theme with a "simulator" before moving it to your device with DM . The sims are blackberry.com.

Reasons you might see that message include:

    1) You don’t have the .alx and .cod files in the same directory. Desktop installation requires as a minimum, a .cod file and a .alx file. When you use the RIM Desktop Manager Application Manager to install, you specify the .alx file, but the .cod file must be in the same directory as the .alx file. Both files are needed for installation.

    2) You need to upgrade your version of the RIM Desktop Manager. You can download the latest version of the Desktop Manager here. I’ve had people tell me that you need to first uninstall the old version before installing the new one, but I haven’t found this necessary.

    3) You need to install the proper device software for your model BlackBerry to your PC. Please note, I’m not saying that you need to update your device OS. I’m saying you need to download the software that tells the Desktop Manager how to properly talk to your device. RIM has unfortunately named this software the “Device” software, which implies to me that it is something that should go on the handheld, but it actually is installed to your PC. To see which version of the device software you already have installed, go to the About menu on the Desktop Manager and click the “Device Software” tab.

What version of Desktop Manager are you running? If your not on 4.6 already I recommend upgrading/downgrading to it and trying it again. And also make sure your running the proper Device Manager

Thats probably the problem, you are probably exporting the themes to 4.5. You should try upgrading your device software.

Where's the button to click update on that page?
Make sure your using IE and not FireFox or anything, should be right at the bottom.

Also make sure your saving your themes for 4.2 and not for 4.5+

    Try this http://bfs.websl.blackberry.com/bfs/...SL-Upgrade.msi

Did you also make sure your saving your themes for the correct OS (4.2)?

Your going to have to update your OS as Shao suggested, to use the themes as they're most likely not compatible with 4.2

Would it still load though, to his device, but NOT show up under themes,

If he has a theme for the wrong OS, it can still load, it just will not show up in his theme section, even though its under applications.
