for anyone else with the issue...

The easiest way is to download Jl_Cmder from here
open it in command line mode and use the command..

    "c:\Program Files\JL_Cmder\JavaLoader.exe -u -w erase -f net_rim_theme_surreal_320x240_422_b

If that don't work, you will need to download and reinstall your handheld OS, try and make a back up first though, Desktop manager will say their is no device connected by follow through the motions anyways it will fix it, but try the first option thats what worked for me.

I did the same thing this morning. You'll need to reload everything. If you take out your battery, hook it up to your computer via usb and open the desktop manager, get into the application loader and start loading everything back on. It'll erase everything (including the theme). If you've performed a backup recently, you can load all that back on. Otherwise you've lost everything...

Don't worry about it. Nothing is working right at all. The %$#^&*&^% dm wont even open right without not responding. How do I wipe this thing if I have to?

Open JL_Cmder, connect BB, select wipe and let it run.
Now your screen will have a 507 error, but thats OK
Make sure you deleted the vendor.xml file
Open DM and it should prompt you.
You may have to click application loader to get it going

Once done, if you have a recent backup (without that theme)
    you can restore from that.

Good luck, keep us posted. Been there, feeling your pain, kiddo.

No one will be fully able to walk you through this, all the options have really been relayed at this point, your device won't be recognized by your PC through the desktop manager that's a common symptom of it, as I previously stated in a previous post just ignore that fact and follow through with the steps, you really do have to just keep trying the very first time it happened to me it took 2 days to get it right, now I can fix a dead berry in 20 mins due to the fact I have had to do it so many times and each time it's slightly different, different timing, different step to start off with (maybe a battery pull, maybe a quick insert of the usb cable at the "exact" time) just have to keep trying.

Ok thanks. I can get it off of the java loader but now I have a new problem totally unrelated to this one but I need it fixed before I can run java loader. When I went to remove the theme, I clicked next and it said "browser can't be loaded because net.rim.blackberry.xml isn't there. If I can fix this, my problem will be solved!!!!
