    Go into SMS/MMS and click the menu (BB logo) button. Select "View Saved Messages" and see if you accidentally saved an unread one. Seems that's usually the case.

    If that is not the case, do a battery pull. That should clear the notification.

    Could also be a voice mail. You can also select "View Folder" and check out all the other possibles. Good luck on your hunt.

    This can also be caused by a misbehaving custom theme. Are you using the default zen theme, or have you changed to a different theme you downloaded?
