Help with IMEI Number
Moved from Georgia to Alaska in March. After next Alltel bill we did an early termination, and purchased a cheap phone(in case we moved again we wouldn't experience this fee)and hooked up to ACS Alaska Communcation Service. They have just started offering Blackberry phones. I now want to hook this $300.00 paper weight ,my Pearl 8130 I am trying to get my IMEI number, but everytime I enter*#06#, I get the ACS automated line. Service has been disconnected with Alltel for 6 months. Can anyone HELP Thanks, John

GSM phones have IMEI numbers...CDMA phones have an ESN number.
Alltel supports CDMA phones so you will need to look for the ESN number.

Shawn, Thank You, is that why I can't seem to find any services unlocking Alltel Blackberries?
-
No prob :-)
CDMA phones cannot be unlocked and are vendor specific which is why you can't find any unlocking services.
-
You may want to call ACS and ask if they can put the ESN onto their system. Some CDMA carriers are able to do that.
-
You cant unlock CDMA, but you can ask their data tech support to hack the ESN into their system.. =P
most likely wont happen, but always worth a try.

If you can find the right person in the ACS service department they can add the ESN tot he system. They added mine and the phone and SMS works on my storm. It is all about who you know (or who you can find).
*edit* Didn't look at the date on this thread... better late than never. Searching for threads seems to be giving me a lot of old threads. :( I just gotta pay more attention.
