I ck Crackberry at least 3-4 times a day for news and information. CB just saved us $ with the ATT data plan change notice. Got my daughter on our family unlimited data plan before the change on Sunday. I wouldn't have known about it without my PB and my addiction to CB. Thx CB Team.
"I have two PlayBooks apps available in BlackBerrys App World: Poker Solitaire (available for $0.99) and Marblous (a free app). I recently noticed a bit of a spike in sales of the former and downloads of the latter, and while I was looking at the numbers, I realized that Ive never done a sales/stats post. So heres a sales/stats post"
The stats are quite interesting. He compares US vs Canadian sales. Last year vs this year sales with attention to sales following the great PlayBook pre Xmas sell off.
Argues that it is indeed worth making apps for the PlayBook and could be quite lucrative.
The city of Cambridge,ON has entered a pilot program partnership with IBM and RIM to modernize their infrastructure. For example, city workers can just bring up all the needed information on a work site by using the Playbook instead of having to keep a collection of maps for every location they might encounter. Considering that Cambridge has around a quarter million assets such as buildings, sewers and roadways to maintain, making them mobile will save a great deal of time and money if used properly.
This is similar to the programs RIM has entered into with UK police services that are focused on reducing paperwork and increase efficiency and given all the attention Apple has received for the move to paperless flight charts, I think it would be good to mention that RIM is not being left behind. Considering the large number of in-the-field employees for government, construction or telecom companies it's another potential market for RIM to entrench themselves within.
I think no one else has reported this, but apparently Amar'e Stoudemire from the Knicks is also sporting a Porsche Design BlackBerry Amar'e Stoudemire's Photo | Lockerz
Just posted this in news and rumors. Found this on BlackBerryOS.com
"The excellent theme designers of Hedone Design have let us in on a tip that Alec Saunders, VP developers relations at RIM, has told them that Theme Builder 7 should be expected to launch around the end of Q2 (month of June)! This is great news for not only theme developers, but for theme fans everywhere. No more half completed themes in App World, and now added support for all the recently launched devices since 2012. If you are a theme dev, get prepared and start getting your icons and wallpapers ready for the new Theme Builder 7 software!"
A new version (2.3.1.5) of the Mac BlackBerry desktop software is now available. I got the notification when I tried to update some programs on my 9900 using the desktop software. The message was a new version was required to update this device. The 9900 is on 7.1.0.402, which may be why I needed the newer Desktop Software.
Just watched Alan Carr 'chatty man' in UK...he's a comedian and has a chat show.
Will I Am was on there, he's an avid tweeter and uses a blackberry...as a bit of a joke they were spinning him round on a chair whilst trying to stop him from tweeting...of course he managed it no problem, but I bet he wouldnt have found it so easy with an iphone lmao...good to see a tech savvy celeb promoting blackberry.
Nevermind. All 16 and 32G are gone. Only 64G for $220 are left. For $99 with free o/n I would grab it as a cheap toy. It hits the right price point, but $220 - nevermind.
The BlackBerry PlayBook Beta registration service is under maintenance and will be down until Thursday September 20, 12:00PM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
throwing this idea out there for the new forums, when a thread has a new message, instead of showing an open envelope with something sticking out, you should have the orange envelope that black berrys use.
