I dropped my Blackberry 9800 Torch on the floor and it landed face down, the back cover came off which revealed that the phone was smoking and I could smell burning, when I picked it up I saw that the battery (F-S1 new 7 months old Original replacement) was on fire. I removed the battery from the phone quickly and put it out. I have all the evidence. The battery was flat and I was going to put it on charge, I did not get that far. The battery does not work, need less to say. I need to get a hold of another battery to test the phone to see if it still works.

If someone told me this would happen I would not have believed it, but having experienced it my self first hand I believe the boy's story as well.

Wow. Glad you were able to put it out. How's the new battery working?
