You don't need it to run the app.

I didn't even finish my profile. I hate that crap.
If I want to buy something then I will consider it otherwise just give me the free stuff!!

Skip it and move on.

Yes.

When you bypass the initial screen for name and address, and go into the app and select a free app for download, it's going to ask you for the address again.

Put in whatever you want, the next screen will be the credit card. Simply swipe up and close at this point.

Refresh the app and download as you wish.

If you want to buy, then you'll need to enter in the card info. I don't use cc's so I was worried about this being an issue but you can work around it.

Personally, I'm liking 1mobile for android apps.

Does the Amazon app email you everytime you download a free app/game?

I have an even worse problem, I signed up this morning and tried added my billing address and debit card details but every time I try downloading anything, I get a prompt saying I should check my address and country. My details filled are in London, although I am not in London atm. I edited my account details and now have no card or billing address filled in but still getting the same error. Here's a shot of what it says:
