    I just got new BB today and I can't seem to send or receive text messages. I got the data plan and my email is up and running, so I'm not sure why messaging isn't. Any ideas???

    Try sending a text to yourself. I've seen it advised here before and it fixed the problem. It might help for you.

    Just tried it but that didn't seem to work either. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Under options on device you will see SMS TEXT option... make sure you have to correct message center number in that field... Google your provider for that code or call your provider for the service center to verify it is correct.
