I bought my 8900 near retail on ebay. First phone I had ever bought not during an upgrade on a contract. I couldn't live with my slow 8310 any longer and I was only 9 months into a 2-year contract at the time. Currently I am about 14 months into the same contract and very glad I made the change.
Also, paying full retail or near full retail isn't that bad if you sell your phone you are replacing. After selling my 8310, I was really only out of pocket for about 50% of the retail price for the 8900.
I'm just curious because I don't know if I would look stupid doing it instead of waiting for my upgrade in may llol. So have you?

Yup. More than once and now that I switched my rate plan to the Everythng Plus, it will ALWAYS be at full price. Just picked up the Bold 9700. It's a chunk of money but I'm making payments for now until I get it down some and then I'll just pay it off. At least this way, I can have what I want. For some it wouldn't be worth it, but for me, it isn't a big deal. I get a lot of use out of my Berry.
