I've never used a bold 9900 before. My last BlackBerry from years ago might have been a very early version bold and I've also used some curves.

I ordered one because I found one for a decent price and just wanted to play with it to see what all the hype was about. Might switch out sim cards every now and then and use 2 phones or I might use it when I travel and use international sim cards.

Extremely unhappy with T-Mobile not releasing 10.2 yet...

Be careful, the 9900 uses a standard size SIM card, as well if your gonna play with it, you will need a regular BlackBerry data feature for many of the apps to work. Email BBM for example require a regular BB data plan.

Welcome to the club. I am rocking a 9900/9930 as my WorkBerry and a Z10 as my PlayBerry. they each have their own merits. Keyboard aside, BBOS still have some of the best options not yet matched by BB10 although 10.2.1 will put something back in.

I still remember how BlackBerry Protect back up all my stuff including contact list and password keeper database everyday. What a peace of mind it offered in true BlackBerry fashion. Not available yet in BB10.

But as some suggest, BBOS requires BIS plan to work outside of work environment. Something BB10 does not. So swapping sim is not so easy. BB OS is not built to be sim swap friendly. Back in the old days some overseas carriers sell BlackBerry specific sums to travellers, and those should have BIS built in and a little more expensive than ordinary sims. But I doubt if you can find these nowadays.

There's micro sim to sim adapters you can get. Crackberry Kevin even did a video on it.

I was using the sim from my Z10 in my 9900. No adapter needed just have to line up the pins correctly and I had no problems.
