I think the racing car (nascar is it?) and alicia keys were a total waste of money. Should be spent on media adds. For what's its worth I see them on websites though.

It's Formula 1 by the way . And I agree that Alicia Keys is a COMPLETE waste of money!

I've seen AT&T Q10 ads on the History channel a few months ago (maybe as late as 2 months after launch), but haven't seen any lately. I remember seeing a Verizon Z10 add back in maybe April, but I couldn't say what channel it was on.

I haven't see any BB ads in the last couple of months.

Yeah. It has been awhile since I've noticed any ads on TV.

but you would lol. web advertising uses the browser cookies of what you've been looking at, so by visiting CB you `should` get targeted BB ads.
    And I'm ok with that

    BlackBerry Z10, powerful tool indeed.

I believe that the reason for this is that a broad-based marketing campaign with advertisements on TV and elsewhere cost a lot of money, and BlackBerry doesn't have a lot of it to burn.

    what choice have they got??
It would have been money well spent, marketing is supposed to pay for itself.

    Hello,

About two months ago but it was on the Spanish television network Univision in LA, the commercial was for the new Q10.

BlackBerry UK seems to be on the ball with informative and well executed commercials:

A previously used commercial, but cut up and with a voice-over that actually *explains* what you're seeing:

    Time Shift

    Keyboard

    Q10 Design

    Screen Share

If only the U.S. commercials were as good.

Haven't seen one here in Switzerland....

    Not one...

    Not even a single one...

It's like they don't want to advertise in my country of origin.
As if... They didn't even try.

Most people that I show my Z10, are completely surprised that BlackBerry actually made a usable touchscreen phone.

The public perception is pretty much either:
    A) BlackBerry= cheap work issued Curve that you hate.

    B) BlackBerry= Bold 9000 that you neither love nor hate, because it's so old that you don't care anymore.

I have some friends&family in Germany as well as France and it's a very comparable scenario for them.

The Z30 launch was incredibly quiet for a "flagship" phone as well.

We have to expect less advertising now though.

They've announced publicly they aren't going after consumers.

I use to see them all the time. AT&T and Verizon mostly. They were all bad ads as they say nothing about being different from your original hated BBRY.

I so hoped for somebody to get the reference

But yes, marketing was, is and apparently will stay abysmal.

Seems they rely on mouths doing the selling. Good luck with that.

Yeah. Unfortunately, I doubt you ever will now because of the change of focus.

The ads here were good but died shortly after they announced a goodbye to the average consumer.

Not saying that decision is wrong though. They need to get profitable. So reduce until costs are smaller than profit from existing customer base. Then start rebuilding. Profit first.
