Went to the Bell store today to upgrade to the Z30 and they told me that they haven't had a Z30 in stock for 3 weeks. Every time they get stock it sells very fast apparently! It's one of their best sellers!! as much as it sucked that I couldn't pick up the Z30 today it was great news nonetheless.

A few weeks and maybe we will know for sure if BB10 has seen some real growth in sales.... or maybe at the very least BB10 adoption will match the loses from Legacy.

Anyone that expects to see smartphone sales expansion from the previous couple of quarters compared to the most recent quarter is living in fantasy-land. Not going to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if the sales are significantly lower actually. BlackBerry is doing very little promotion of consumer products right now and many carriers in developed markets have stopped carrying various of the BB10 models.

What is more important to pay attention to right now is the traction on the MDM side, and perhaps QNX. I don't expect any sort of significant recovery in consumer product sales until at least the end of 2014, quite possibly 2015.

The Z3 and similiar products could moderate the situation in mid to late 2014 somewhat, depending on how successful they are.

If BlackBerry ensures that all future devices they push out will be more stable, more secure, and more efficient than the competition, companies that rely heavily on secure communication will no doubt start issuing BlackBerry devices from entry-level personnel to top management.

If the CEO of a multinational company needs to communicate right away to his guys in the field, he gets on his porsche design BlackBerry and sends an email to his engineers in the field using their Qs and Zs... who then tasks their interns via email who are issued lower end BlackBerry units. Regardless of whatever BlackBerry handset they use, all communication is secure, and on stable devices. ...

If only it were this easy...

Ah, it is so nice to learn that people's finances are so secure at this bank that their mobile devices don't need to be managed properly.... /sarcasm/

My fiance's father has just been appointed CEO of a huge, multinational coal mine and they said he was only allowed to take a 9790. Though he was saying that their IT guys don't really know what's going on and the junior ones earn like $5k a month...so maybe that's why they're not using BB10 yet.

They're a BB-only company - apparently it is because the devices are so insanely locked down and encrypted. So much so that it actually seems a little TOO CIA/NSA/KGB...
No, mining companies are like that.

Mining are all pro-BlackBerry, in a very VERY intense way.

After searching GCpedia, which is an internal wiki for the Government of Canada so don't bother searching unless you're on the GoC network, Shared Services Canada is indeed testing the Z10 and Q10 on the government network including BlackBerry Balance. The migration to BES10 is tied to the email modernization project so even though they say Fall 2014, who knows how long implementation will take. The standard device that will be issued will be the Q5 with Z10s and Q10s being issued only with higher departmental approval. No mention of BYOD that I could find which I'm really hoping for because I already have a Z10 and want to stop carrying two phones. If BYOD does happen, I can see limiting it to the same devices especially in my case (military).
