I would like to pass some Kudos on to our RIMPIRE.
The last two weeks have been exciting and the media front has changed drastically for RIM (not to mention a little HP distraction).
Overall, the new BlackBerry 7 phones are killing and they have only been in-market for a couple weeks. Reviews are all positive (with the usual minor bugs and occasional un-impressable individuals). Personally I can't wait until Sunday to get my new Sprint 9930!
Now we are seeing reports of BlackBerry Music Service. This has been rumored for awhile, but now the beta may be only a week or two away!
To top it off, the excellent news of late has effectively slowed the random and unfounded PlayBook whining. I sense a strategy from the RIMpire... They knew these new phones would be well-received and by putting the release after the release of the PlayBook, they bought themselves some time to get the "sweeeeeet" update prepared for the PlayBook AND they gave themselves time to fully ensure the new OS7 devices would be ready to rock. (BTW, the sweet PB release is set for September, so be patient, it is definately coming).
Anyway, great job RIM! You have moved past the onslaught of trolling negative media and are pushing forward with innovation, style, and renewed vigor. The RIMpire is only offering a taste of the battle to come, and I think as we watch RIM move forward, there will be lots more amazing stuff to come.
And, in regards to HP, I really hope that they can pick themselves up. Obviously WebOS is cursed or something :D However, I still like the price tags on HP laptops and they still provide good quality products. But we will see.
I know, I know, "this guy is just a RIM fanboy and there is no swaying him..." "he obviously doesn't follow the stock market and sales figures..." "there are no apps to speak of..." "can you play angry birds with your BB..."
There I saved the trolls some effort. Honestly, I just felt like posting something positive in light of the pretty excellent press following RIM the last few days.
Peaceful Journeys!
