You could purchase a bluetooth GPS receiver to pair with a wifi enabled BB.

As is covered in great detail in the GPS forum, yes you must have a Blackberry data plan to use a GPS enabled phone. There are no GPS packages available for the BB that will store the maps on the phone. The 8820 has both WiFi & GPS. It has no camera. I've been using one for months. For more information on WiFi or GPS, look in those forums. Tons of great information in each.

The GPS on my 8820 works even without a sim card in it, you just cant view the maps without a data plan. The GPS will still give you coordinates, speed, heading, etc, without using data.
