    We have two pearls (8130) and Verizon service. Son is getting gps on his and our other one doesn't seen to have that ability. Is a certain operating system required to receive the gps signals?

    Yes. You have to be running OS4.5. If you are, you can use the internal GPS with BBMaps or VZNav, but not with Google as of this writing.

    You can download from the Verizon site, here: BlackBerry Software Updates

    The CrackMem Utility that's linked in my sig will also help you once you have the OS downloaded and installed. It has an excellent help file.
