I'm having issues with my blackberries gps. Certain apps like weatherbug and bb maps aren't working for me. The gps is enabled but I think its worth mentioning that I'm in school in a different area from were my "home" area would be. I have nationwide roaming with verizon though. Any ideas on what the problem may be?

To test the gps, go into a really open area with few trees and no buildings. Give it time to then find satellites, like even 10 or 15 minutes. Make sure that in Options/Advanced/GPS is not limited to 911.

Some Tours do have gps problems.

The gps can be finicky. Just over this weekend I traveled to Eastern Wa from western. As we were leaving, I used gpslogger and it locked on in a moving car after about 5 minutes. Turned if off. Got to E. Wa and I could not get a lock after 15 minutes. Next morning still no lock. Got to mt. top and got a lock. Driving home, I turned it on in moving car and it locked immediately. I don't understand it but as I said - finicky sometimes.

I've found that GPS is more stable when I have Amaze GPS running in the background. I can use any other GPS apps (ie. Poynt, GPSed) with no problems. Hope this helps.

Im gonna try a few different apps with gps capabilities. GPS works just fine when im back home but it wont work while im at school, it almost seems like it would be a roaming issue. Thanks for the suggestions though
