Now that will work with the curve. Well BBMAPS will, if you have installed 4.5 on your curve.

I run google maps but its more for getting a look at where I am going, especially satellite view. I typically know where I am. It works ok for latitude, the limited precision affords some degree of privacy while still saying "I'm in this neighborhood".

Google maps work fine on my 8330 Curve.
Granted it's a PITA to get the GPS to lock on to me but it does sometimes.

Edit: opps missed the part about Verizon.

It seems to work fine on my Verizon 8330. I'm running 4.5.0.77. I don't know how much I'd actually use it for directions since I have a dedicated GPS in my Jeep.

It works for you because your carrier is not Verizon.

I've been using Poynt for the past month or so, both under OS 4.2 and 4.5 and it works just fine. It does, however use BB Maps not Google Maps. BB Maps is a native app for ATT but it is not user accessible. Poynt does access it and actually looks quite good.

Google Maps works on my Curve with no trouble at all. The GPS integration was flawless. I am also running GPS Logger, and keep recorded tracks backed up to the desktop. Perhaps the problem is with the carrier if you aren't able to run GM on the 8330.

That is the point GPS on verizon for the 8330 only works with BB maps and VZ Nav unless you use a seperate GPS puck, then some of the pay nav programs work.
