    why is it that my BB (8700) suppresses it's GPRS coverage while I'm on a call?

    no other phone does it??

    just means I get mails when I'm off the phone, which doesn't help when someone calls you and says I'll send you the mail now..

    Err, as far as I know all BlackBerry's do this. Prime reason why people want wi-fi - you have the option to do two things at once...

    it just annoys me profusely. SMS come through ok just not mails..

    yeah roll on wifi... let's hope it wi-maxed...
