    Is UNLOCKED = no contract with any carrier in your case??

    If so you need to provide TCP/IP settings: APN name, user and password for your provider...

    not always. when i got my unlocked, tmobile branded 8900 and threw in my AT&T SIM card, it automatically registered on the network via service books. the tcp/ip settings still had the tmobile settings there. and those had no effect on my internet usage.

    OP, just resend your service books as stated and it should solve your issue. no need or way to really manually type in your settings.
