I'm trying to explain this to a buddy, did I miss anything?

    Start from a PC.

Go to www.google.com and sign up for a Gmail account.

After signed up Click on Calendar.
(I'm doing all this from memory so my instruction won't be exact but more what to look for.

Under settings say you want to share the calendar ( this will make it so it will sync)

Add whatever you want to the google calendar, it will take a few entries to get use to it but then everything will come easy. You can set it up for one time events, daily, ever monday or tuesday ect. Whatever you need/want

    Now on the Blackberry.
(Everything will start from the home screen which is the screen the blackberry will default to, anytime you get lost hit the red phone and start over)

@the home screen hit menu you should now see all your icons and see one call E-mail settings

    Click that and log in.

You need to add the @gmail.com to your blackberry.

After that is done exit back to the Home screen

Now got to the options menu (should be a wrench icon)
    Click on Advanced Options
    Then Default Services

Under Default Services you'll see Calendar click that and select your Gmail address.
(While in Default Services you can also set up your Email, which ever email you normally send from should be showing.)

When that is done exit back to the home screen.

Click on your Browser and enter

    m.google.com/sync

    Install the app.

Once the app is installed go back to your home screen.

Go into your calendar and hit menu.
At the top of the menu you should now see GOOGLE SYNC

    Click that.

Use the same log in info you used to sign up at google.com

Once signed in hit menu and go to options.

Set your Sync to occur automatic or Manual ( you have to tell it to sync, I use this option)

Do Not sync your contacts, it slows everything down and screws things up. (Leave it unchecked)

Make sure Sync calendar is checked
Pick how many weeks out you want to sync for (I sync 8 weeks out)

Hit the Back button (between track ball and red phone) and click Save.

Now hit menu again and select Sync Now.

Everything you put on your Google calendar will now come down to your Blackberry and from your Blackberry back up.

From now on all you need to do is go into your calendar and hit menu and select sync now.

Looks like you pretty much nailed it. The only issue is that the Sync app is in Beta and there's a few issues with the auto-sync. Let your friend know that he/she may have to use the Google Sync under the options while in the BB Calendar. That's until they fix it for good.

MOD - This needs to be a Sticky! Very detailed.

Yeah that's why I sugested to use manual sync and not to sync contacts.

Thanks, I have some time to kill and that gave me about 5 minutes of entertainment.

If I add in screen shots as I'm talking about each screen that would be nice.

Maybe I'll spend a few minutes doing that
