A friend provided me this pic. It shows the z30 as a compatible device. Makes me wonder if indeed Google Play will be supporting BlackBerry 10 devices in the future

I wouldn't be surprised that in the future we will indeed have Google Play supported on BlackBerry 10 devices.

Bingo. If you perform a custom Android install, you can make whatever name you want show up in Google Play.

I don't understand how it works.
Let's say I'm an android app developer and I'm uploading an application to Play store.
Can I specify BB products as compatible devices?
Or does Play store automatically assigns products based on API bundles?

And that is the reason why Google Play recognizes his Z30. Nothing to confirm a deal with BlackBerry and Google from it. Snap gives you a gsfid automatically and makes Google think of the BB10 device as a Android phone. Check the Snap thread for a better explanation.
But if he didn't have Snap installed that would be something..

you cant select BB that I know of. But i believe snap and similar apps get around the "compatibility" check so free apps will be allowed to download and install

Correct. You can't select any specific devices. It's all based off of what features the specific device reports are available.

Snap is actually VERY good. The only catch being that it has to be sideloaded, but once it's on board it's excellent.
