    Hey friends,

I have a Treo 755p for my personal, and my BB for my work. I am wanting to transfer my contacts from my Treo to my Blackberry, mostly because my contacts on my BB came from my SIM card, and the BB 8350i cuts the contact off after so many characters. I also want to have the address/email/other contact info.

    How can I do that?

Here is the caveat - I have no outlook on this computer, and no capability of getting it.

    Any thoughts?

I have no BB software on my computer at all, but, can download BB desktop manager.

    Thanks.

    Jeremy

Download and install Desktop Manager and use the Switch Device Wizard.

I went to the Switch Device Wizard, and the "select the software" you want to import from screen is greyed out. In other words, it won't let me select the Treo or Windows Smart phone option.

    Thanks.

If you got a Gmail account, use Google Sync on both phones.

Do you have Palm Desktop on your computer? If so, it's probably version 4.2. If you can backup all of your palm files then downgrade to Palm Desktop 4.1 (from Palm's website). I'm not totally sure if you have to re-sync your Treo to the Palm Desktop 4.1, but after you download 4.1 you can use BB's device switch manager to move your data from the Treo to the BB. You will need to plug both your Treo and your BB into your comp at the same time.

For some reason BB's Desktop Manager won't recognize Palm Desktop 4.2.

I can't find Palm Desktop 4.1 for my 755p. Any other thoughts?

Palm's OS hadn't changed in years. 4.1 worked with my old Zire 71 and my Treo 700P and I'm pretty sure the 755P has the same OS. It should work, though I would suggest you download the 4.1 to a different computer than your 6.2 is on just to be double sure not to cross your PIM data up.

I keep my BB updated on my work lapper but used my home desktop just to run the switch device manager.
