My plan on killing Gmail and another personal account is working. Created an Office 365 account to take the place of these free accounts. I didnt want to add this Microsoft exchange account as another email account in the PP. I wanted it to remain in MS outlook app for emergency only.
Very happy with it. $4.00 or $5.00 and you get free Office Mobile apps on the PC and a whole lot more with the business plan. Add the other value and they are paying you to use this service and get better email.

Ok good luck with it... Moving to general shortly when I'm on PC.

365 is awesome even though it has some flaws

Why are you trying to replace Gmail with Outlook 365? Is it better?

How do you think they can offer it for free? It certainly costs them something to provide it.

What is your plan to deal with contacts on mobile platform? Currently, the outlook client cannot add, edit, delete contacts at all.. And if you want to add the sender of received email to your contact,.. Well.. Good luck

I'm not sure why you think Microsoft is better than Google in this instance.

I'm using FastMail and loving it. Contacts, calendar and email with an ironclad privacy policy. Granted it's s paid service but I'd rather be the customer than the product.

Latest outlook has some nice features, such as schedule messages to re-appear in your inbox at certain time etc.. But now with Priv coming, I guess I will have other email and contact clients replaced with those from BlackBerry.

It would be nice though, to use same client on osx, windows, Android and ios.. Airmail 2 does a decent job on osx, soon also on ios,.. But not on all..

Yea, some of us need to use many devices, and need to always be connected, and always access to all mail, and same filters etc..

Outlook is just....horrible! I get emails stuck in the outbox. Emails that don't come in. The learning curve is just way to steep. Still annoying to this day.

Gmail is lonely at the top right now. I've had emails everywhere and no one compares when it comes to organizing by category, eliminating spam, simplicity in general. AOL and Yahoo are just plain bad.

Google is the master of everday apps. The only thing they need to improve on is Google maps. When they went to the new look, it was not very user friendly at all, still don't like it to this day but even then, better than any competitor like bing.

Coke, your days are numbered. My plan on killing Coke is working. Started drinking Pepsi to take place of these Coca Cola bottles. I didn't want to add Fanta in to the mix. I wanted it to remain Pepsi for emergency only.
    Very happy with it.

The OP is using a pay service, Office 365, not just a free outlook.com account. Considering that 365 is HIPAA and Fed RAMP compliant, I don't think there's much tracking going on with it.

Office 365 is a ofimatic Cloud Suite, Gmail is Just a free Email Service, with huge of advantages, integration with all Google Services.

You are comparing two diferents things, maybe you should compare Office 365 with Google Apps servicios

Office 365 is pretty great. Google Apps are decent for basic stuff, but Microsoft's applications are in a separate category entirely for users who know what they're doing. Also, consumer versions of Office 365 get a free terabyte of space on OneDrive, so it's cheaper than pure storage AND you get full-featured software applications that you can install on multiple devices.

Now that MS is bundling VOIP, including phone numbers, VM and international calling, you can get virtually ALL your communication tools, applications, and cloud storage for $20 per user per month. And they all feel solid and enterprise-worthy. The only downside is that you have to take the time to learn how to configure some of the advanced features for the enterprise tools, as they were designed for IT professionals to deploy.

Don't forget - Almost Zero Spam emails with virus in the inbox. IMO free email account have become too risky to use anymore. The treat is growing and even with good Email and virus protection like Eset, its not worth the risks attached to free email service anymore.

I dont have one and would not do that. I would add and edit on a PC.
Office 365 will be added and primarily managed from a $200 Office 2016 License, I could sign in via web and do things.

I only use Zoho mail for one of my spare domains, but it seems fully featured, free and ad free. No issues and supports active sync, imap and pop.

Yes, but if you really need more, you probably do need to pay.

I've got gmail for like 13 years and barely delete anything, and I think my box is only 4GB. My work email that regularly has firmware attachments, is about 8GB a year. A lot of pay mail services first tier is 10GB and so I have to archive offline every year (we don't use Zoho at work, just sayin').
