How do I get messages sent from Outlook to show on my blackberry. I currently only see messages sent from my berry. I am already configured to use imap.

You won't, bb uses push mail which isn't the same as imap

BIS email only checks/syncs the inbox folder. It will not look at any other folders.

that is unfortunate. I guess I will need to keep the gmail app on my berry for this reason as a backup.

gmail will send the sent emails since gmail uses labels with everything in one folder, so the BIS server see the everything as a new email. It will be in your inbox on the BlackBerry and not in the Sent folder.

Gmail's propagation of sent items to other email clients only occurs when using POP3, but the OP is using IMAP. Switching to POP3 would get the OP what he/she is asking for, but would also have other side effects.
