Hi everyone, my first post here so go easy on me!

I have had a Vodafone 9500 Storm since Christmas Day and have got my gmail pop account running almost flawlessly with filters working to stop my sent emails from reappearing in my inbox as new messages.

I use gmail online, in Windows Mail on my PC, Mail on my Macbook Pro and on my BB. My problem is that only some emails push through to my BB. For example: this morning I had one email sent at 4:59 that arrived at my BB at 5:00! Perfect. I then had email from the same people at 6:13 that never came through to my BB although it was in Windows Mail and Gmail online. I then sent myself an email from another account as a test, and that appeared to unblock everything, arriving at my BB instantly and bringing the missing email with it!

If anyone can be bothered to read all of that, then make sense of it, it would be great if you had any advice!

I'm not getting gMail on my Storm either. I've removed and re-added the account from the BIS server but no luck. I get the message when I push the service books out but no messages. Yahoo and my vzw.blackberry.net email work fine though... any ideas???

Try imap. Look through the gmail support section on how to hook it up instead of default pop3.

What are the advantages of IMAP over POP apart from better syncing ability?
I thought IMAP wasn't instant but POP was. The whole reason I'm using a Gmail account is so I can get my mail instantly.

    Thanks

I've disabled POP completely in Gmail and am running only IMAP in Windows Mail, Mac Mail and my Storm.

So far the problem has become worse. It appears every other email is not coming through and it takes an email from one of my other accounts to my gmail account to unblock it and then they all come through together.

I've just read on another thread that sometimes the system can become corrupt and that the way to fix this is to delete everything from the mailbox.
I've just done this and I'll let you know how it goes.

    Thanks

ok so far so good. I think everything is coming through instantly after doing that.

Problem now is that my sent items aren't syncing or even appearing in windows mail?
Seeing as I am now using IMAP, I would like my sent items to sync when I send them. If I send an email from gmail online, BB or apple mail, should it not appear as a sent item in all my clients?
Also when I send an email from Windows mail, it doesn't even appear in the sent items folder there which is strange.

    Any ideas?
