Wtf you guys are so contradictory. One of the PRIMARY pros you guys give about BlackBerry vs iphone/Android was that emails get received much quicker. (by much quicker I mean 3-5 seconds)

But now that's it's the classic being slow you guys are bashing on the guy for complaining. So what is it? Nothing should be considered a fault if it's on BlackBerry but more so the user being whiny, but if it's a minuscule advantage BlackBerry has over the competition then suddenly it's a selling point?

And to OP yes my emails are slower on my Classic then it was on my Passport.

You might use the time stamps in the e-mail's header (refer to RFC 2822 for additional info).

I extracted this from one of my recent e-mails:

Our company senior staff have Blackberries. They receive the emails almost at the same instant when they get the email on their PCs. This happens very fast. The IT guy informed me they have a separate system for the Blackberry emails.

Isn't this setup quite different from what we are using? e.g I'm on hotmail and I receive the emails in few seconds (though sometimes it takes even a minute to get the email) because I understand the email has to pass through a series of networks / systems which is not dedicated for my work alone (and I've not subscribed to this dedicated service like my company has done for their managerial staff) and is expected to have delays depending on the "internet traffic".

Or am I getting this altogetherly wrong??

I don't see how a 3 seconds delay could be a problem. I highly doubt that anyone doing any serious work is bothered by a 3 seconds delay of his/hers emails.

Could you provide an example of a situation in which the 3 seconds delay has even a shadow of meaning for what you are doing?

I've been down this road too, I used to wait up to like 5 seconds for E-mail to come through on my Q5. It was torture. So I decided to change devices. Luckily on my Leap now it's down to a much more manageable 2.5 seconds.

Email has substituted snail mail, for most, and I still believe it can't be counted as super-instant communication or something that has to be answered right away (within seconds or minutes).

There's IM solutions (BBM, WhatsApp, ... even TXT/SMS) for these cases, just imho...

Passport has a Snapdragon 801, the older phones are running an S4 Plus. S4 Plus is pretty lame. People try to defend the lame specs BlackBerry is putting out, but they do have consequences.
