I currently have a BB Peral, I hate the keyboard but love everything else about it.

I am thinking about switching to a BB 8800, do you guys know if all the applications that is running on my Peral will work on the 8800?

    TIA

I struggled with SureType for a while. Once you have your personal dictionary customized, it becomes a lot easier.

In general, all applications will work across the entire BlackBerry product line.

The display will be affected, obviously the screen size is different between the two device.

Your profile indicates an 8130 and T-Mobile. That is not a compatable device/carrier combination.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Screen size? 8800 is larger?

Actually I have a BB Peral 8100, I need to update my profile. When I first got the phone I had no idea what model it was.

    TIA

A lot bigger. The Curve and '88's share the 320x240 display, the Pearl has the 260x240 display.

    The difference is huge.

You might want to also consider the upcoming Curve 8900, it should be out on Tmobile any second now. I believe business customers can already get it.

I choose the 8800 mainly for cost reason, as I see used units on ebay for $100

T-Mobile is very Curve friendly. Many of us have T-Mobile 8320's on alternate carriers because it does Wifi.

$100 would not come close to tempting me to give up the Curve, but perhaps some will.

I assume you are aware, there is no camera or video recording on the 88's.

OH! That will make a difference! So what's the least expensive used BB with a FULL keyboard that will also function as camera? Of course besides the Peral.

The Curve. The 8320 or 8330 which I think are the ones available on TMO. On an 8800 you don't even get MMS.

The 8900 is coming REAL soon, it is(I believe) already available to business customers. It has much more App memory and a better processor than the other models. Of course now might be a good time to pick up the old curve cheap.

OK, decided to go with a curve 8310. Unfortunately phone is no unlocked, currently is locked under At&T, but I need to use T-mobile.

Can anyone recommend a good reliable on line source to purchase the unlock code from?

    TIA

Start by calling your carrier. Tell them you bought an AT&T branded phone
and would like to unlock for use as your primary device. Cheaper than paying
for a code and usually faster turnaround time.
