General Email beginning Guide
- So i've had my 9700 for about 2 weeks now, and I'm getting used to all the email functions and all that...but i'm still confused about some stuff.
What does "2 way sync" actually mean for gmail accounts?
1) If I delete an email from gmail online, should it remove it from my device? (sync deleted items is checked via online bis)
2) If I read a message online, it should mark it as read on device? (I've searched through some threads, seems as if this isn't instant?
And then for non gmail accounts....
1) deleting an email online shouldn't delete it from device, right?
2) sending an email online shouldn't show up on device, right?
And then for yahoo...
1) It should work like gmail, but apparently its still having issues?

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com07-10-10 09:18 PMLike 0 - It is a known issue with gmail. The mails that are read/deleted on the device will be updated on the server but no actual sync from server to device. There was a recent update to BIS, enabling 2 way sync for gmail accounts, but lot of users still have troubles with it...07-11-10 03:17 AMLike 0
- Is anyone on tmo's BIS "delete from server deletes from phone thing working"? I've checked and double checked my BIS settings - sync "deleted items" is checked. Its not working for my .edu account, gmail, yahoo, or hotmail account....is it just tmo right now? I've also manually did reconcile now...
And:
composing an email online via gmail will show on handheld, but for any other service (yahoo, hotmail, .edu), it won't....?Last edited by yehrulz; 07-11-10 at 02:44 PM.
