    Can someone sheds some light on this article for me . I don't want to start a massive arguement here but is this kinda thing going to effect apps coming to the playbook .

    Yes and no.

    Yes, Android is so fragmented. One device may have 1GHz processor + 4" display 800x480 + 384 RAM. Other may only have 500MHz processor + 3.2" display with 320x480 resolution + 256 RAM. And newer & more expensive Android devices may have quad core + 720p resolution. And to make it worse, it may be based on ARM, or nVidia, or Intel. Not to mention the GPU variation, Android version, vendor specific features (stylus, capacitive, resistive).

    OMG. If I'm a developer, I must have may be 10 devices to test on?

    Other devices may be fragmented as well, but not as worse as Android.

    But, Android is a huge market, so I doubt anyone will ignore the potential of its market. They simply have to concentrate on some common hardware specs.
