I've seen some great deals on the BlackBerry Q10 and Z10 on FutureShop.ca and BestBuyMobile.ca

Mainly the "$0 Sale" until January 30.

It comes with either a $50 gift card for the Q10 or a $150 gift card with the Z10. (Sounds crazy, right?)

It says *See Store for Gift Card Details*

I called Cambridge stores, Waterloo and Kitchener, and Not one store had any BlackBerry models. My local FutureShop has BlackBerry 10 banners still! A BlackBerry Q10 and Z10 on display. Yet not FutureShop or BestBuy had any. I was thinking due to the sales, some stores may be out,

Until I spoke to two separate reps. One from BestBuy and One FutureShop. They both said they hadn't stocked BlackBerry models in "a very long time." In addition, more than 3 stores said; "We do not stock BlackBerry phones."

It's a little itchy, especially considering I live a matter of seconds from the Waterloo BlackBerry HQ.

If true, it isn't good. Sales rep have been wrong in the past. You'd think a store that sells cell phones in Canada, should support a Canadian brand, specially a store located in Waterloo.

I live in waterloo and it is rare to see a blackberry in stores like bestbuy, futureshop and walmart. Telus/bell and rogers are all not even behind BB10 from how the reps talk about BB10 to me.

Blackberry has a lot of work to do with their partnerships. You would think Waterloo is Blackberry city but it's not. It's all iPhones and Samsung other then the BBOS7 business dad's when their stay home wives all have iphones.

Toronto seems to support BB10 more then waterloo though from what I've seen. All the national T.O teams are sponsored by BB10 and there is banners everywhere.

That's very true, I'd like to see TFC if they get the BlackBerry branding too, but the jays got the BlackBerry zone, raptors and leafs are covered and sponsored head to toe

Both stores are the same company and they are facing serious financial problems of their own.

They are closing stores all over north America.

The latest prediction is that they will be gone all together in the not to distant future.

They are selling furniture and mattresses now. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Is this also part of BlackBerry 's plan?

If BlackBerry decides to leave the consumer market temporarily, doesn't that make sense that Best Buy/Future Shop start pulling their products?

Not exactly, just look at BBOS4-7 phones they were always at every carrier/box store. Back then they were all enterprise and not consumer at all. They got popular for consumers when they were enterprise which is why stores carried their products.

It all depends how popular the product is and right now BB10 isn't popular so they don't want to carry a non popular phone.

Was into the local Walmart in Dartmouth, N.S. today and they had no less than 7 bbrys! They had a separate bbry display with the Z10 and Q10. They also had one each in both white and black of the Z10, Q10, Q5 and an legacy device in black.

Superstore also had a Z10, Q10, and a legacy device on display as well.

The Bell store had a Z10, Q10 and Q5, as well.

    Local Source had a Q5 and Q10.

Have yet to see a Z30 though.

I got my BlackBerry Z30 December 29, 2013. The BestBuy in Pointe Claire, Quebec, at that time still had two Z30's in stock, as well as other BB's. The thing is it's not always worth it for a retailer to keep a lot of inventory particularly when customers can 1) buy the devices on line and / or 2) buy them direct from the carriers like Bell and Telus.

When I got my z10 at best buy in the states I got it for free and they gave a 50 dollar gift card for it too. This was back in August.

Looks to be the same in the Ottawa area for Futureshop at least. A few Telus devices scattered around, but nothing for Rogers or Bell.

You know, this may be a little far fetched, but there might be another consideration. Waterloo is BlackBerry town ... also home of like 7000 BlackBerry employees, the BlackBerry Store and the BlackBerry Employee "Friends and Family" Employee purchase plan. Every employee can buy like 10 devices at super discounted rates. This past Christmas you could get an unlocked Z10 for $100 bucks if you knew someone that worked there.

Must be a bit harder to sell BlackBerrys when competing in that environment.
