Function keys and the previous leak

I was just thinking, I wonder if that last leak with the 3 row keyboard was clearing space for function keys.

With that in mind, would these new gestures clash with a return to a trackpad?

All speculation at this time, but these are interesting tidbits. Maybe throw it all together for a qwerty phablet? I know I'd be interested.

Maybe 2014 will bring us some exciting new toys... fingers crossed!!

Let's hope 2014 brings us new devices .....WITHOUT trackpads!

There is something nice about moving your thumb centimeters to navigate your phone just end of inches swiping.

Just saying. I'm interested to see how BlackBerry merged these concepts.

I certainly hope the premium qwerty does not have a trackpad, sure make an entry level "On-Boarding" qwerty with a trackpad but as a Q10 user I do not miss the trackpad at all anymore...

The only use I missed was for selecting text but the new "Shift + Swipe" text selection is great for that now.

I'm a Q10 user, and if you do work with your phone, then you know how much more efficient a set of hardware keys would make you. Buy a Z30 if you want to browse the internet and watch videos. If you are making calls and editing text, then you should know better.

Speaking of function keys, can I use and external keyboard for my Q10?

There's a new patent that was just signed Tuesday that was meant to be a keypad attachment for touch sensitive devices much like the typo.

It seems BlackBerry has their own "TYPO" type of patent - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

But that looks nothing like Typo, since it goes over the screen, which is horrible. Reminds me of this ugly little bugger:



Any keyboard attachments should be saving screen real estate, not taking it away. They should be making something like the typo that connects to the bottom of the device. Screen real estate is so precious...

There is one you can slide your phone into much like the TYPO case. It's a patent.

Yeah, I saw that second image, looks like a pocket. But even still, it's going to take up a good chunk of the screen for what ever device you slide into it, which is not a good idea. The TYPO keyboard doesn't take up any of the screen on the iPhone 5S.

Yes, mouse too. I've tested one of those $20 ebay BT keyboard+touchpad and it works.

There are still a lot more bold users than BlackBerry 10 users, so by BlackBerry kinda remaking a bold is a good idea. Sales it what matters now. $$$$$
