I think BlackBerry should hire some of the crackberry subscribers nd app users...to design nd give ideas...than blackberry will be a killer nd even smarter smartphone

you took the time to redraw and remove names.
but why didn't you make use of the extra space you created.
make those icons Large large large.
make use of ALL THE SPACE.
    now THAT would look nice.
I mean "windows 7 - extra-large" icon size and only several pixels spaced.
    use ALL THE DANG SPACE!!!!!
    woooooooooooo

Except most people have said that they would like to see their wallpapers, that is why they dislike most of the shadowed boxes etc. I shall look into a new design with larger icons though...

    BlackBerry future of UI did not reside in;
    - rendered icons
    - flat icons
    - icon shaded tray
    - no shaded
    ...

If you already wanted a freshen up UI, you will get bored soon will flat icon too. Then you will came back here and required BlackBerry to bring back a different icon design.

The only way BlackBerry could match the day-to-day preferences of every individual on earth is THEME SETUP

So Crackberrian should stop arguing that this or that will be better, you won't find unanimity.

These discussions are more likely wasted bits on the Web space

One doesn't become bored with good design. Classical graphic design is simpler and flatter--stuff that has been relevant for the better part of a century. Faux 3D and Skeumorphism are not something worth considering at this point.

Anyway, good design doesn't age. Good graphic design. Basic, simple. Proportions. Etc. Right now, a lot of the icons are using ugly colours, ugly shading, ugly glossy window dressing. I'm confident that at the very least, BB10 icons could be improved upon with eyes on the past.

I actually would like more and smaller icons not bigger ones.
Do you want something like the windows phone interface?

The tyranny of flat design needs to be eradicated. It's a fad that just shows how lazy designers have become. Don't be sucked in by the stupid design philosophies of Sir Jon Ives. His designs reek of intellectual laziness and blatant theft. Stop thinking flat already. It's a silly trend that goes against good design.

Thanks for the concept but nooo I wish blackberry never goes in that direction

This is not a barb at the concept, but the general idea that BB10 needs to be flat. Why do we have to follow people off the cliff? Flat is not automatically better just because the other companies are doing it. Windows 8 is flat and horrible while Windows 7 is not, and beautiful. Flat is not automatically best.

Ives implemented ios7 flat design poorly. But simple and graphical is classic design and will never go away. It's just taken this long for the computer/tech world to catch up.

I don't think any of these icons are meant to be anything more than a direction BlackBerry could take with a visual update. Obviously professional polish would take these to another level and would alleviate some of the cartooniness.

Not to take away from OP's work, as I think he did good work. But quick mockups are always done before an indepth design is implemented.
