There's nothing worse than having your BlackBerry battery die when you need it most. Or charging up in the morning only to have a dead battery that very same night.

Here are five ways to conserve your BlackBerry battery and help avoid these unfortunate events. There are some basics like shutting off your device at night or when you know you won't need it, and some more advanced suggestions like optimizing all your phone and message notifications and your third-party application alerts.

    Check it out.

Reducing the screen brightness probably saves more battery usage than anything else there. Not to mention dropping 20 or 30 notches really doesn't look that different and gives your BlackBerry more life.

The brightness I have never touched, but I am considering it, especially with my new theme (crossbar + 4.5) Both are power hungry.

Reducing the screen brightness and the amount of time the device stays lit before timing out are probably the best tips in the article. But if you use some crazy custom ring tone with three vibrations that's gonna eat up a bunch of power, too. So using a traditional ring and ditching the vibrations can also help a lot, especially if you're real popular and get many calls.
