I like the OP's idea, but are all of you really buying your phones in store? I cannot believe this as I got all my phones ever used over the Internet. Even my mom ordered her new contract + phone with a phone call.
Why going into a store and being manipulated by some stupid sales person that is only interested in selling a phone?

Working at a dealer I'd say that, at least in the case of those around me, your basic principle is also misguided.

Sales reps push what's easy to sell. Samsung happens to be easier to sell these days than iPhones. The "all my friends have one" confidence is there. I doubt sales reps have ever sold what was best for the users "needs", but instead what is easiest to sell, and if it has an extra sales incentive (which Samsung often offers).

If BlackBerry offered sales incentives to REPS, rather than to carriers, then it would sell like hot cakes.

I agree, as I said in the OP. I take my hat off to them, it's a beautifully simple idea. All BlackBerry has to do is copy what they should have done originally.

No I actually find it funny that you are all about peace and love in the forums except when people have a different opinion than you in which case you mock them.
