I'm buying my gf a BB as a gift, and I'm debating which phone to get her. I've often heard that a Bold is kind of large, especially for girls. I of course don't know how true this is, so I thought I'd just make a poll to get an idea. Btw I found someone that's selling a 8900 for $200 with box and eveything, slight scratched up but not too bad. Good deal?
although my girl and i got verizon back in march of this year, her and i both have curve 8330's. but i know girls that i work with and that i'm friends with that are now upgrading their blackberries and i tell them to give the 8900 a shot. i don't even tell them to buy it, and all of them has upgraded to an 8900.
Might be usefull if u know what's your lady preferences. Does she like to take pics or browse heavily on the net OTA.
That could lead to the final decission.

Yeah for sure. She's not going to take a lot of pics since she has her own camera. As for surfing online, I honestly don't think she'll be online all that much. But I just hate the idea of paying $30 a month for data but not have 3G, oh well.
I have to say - I find it funny that people think the Bold is a "large" phone. It's only a tad larger than the 8900 (5 mm longer, 6 mm wider.....) but surely the features, how the screen looks and the buttons feel in any person's hand, and how a phone is going to be used will determine which is the right phone. Do people generally think the iPhone is too big for women? The iPhone is the same length and a few mm narrower and isn't considered a man's phone.
Anyway, I am a woman and the Bold is not too big for me.
Actually! I myself prefer the Bold after having the Curve. The Curve is more feminine BUT...in my opinion the Bold has style status...if your gf is into fashion, go for the Bold :P

Amen. Every woman is not 5'2 with tiny hands, and every man is not 6'4 with massive hands. I prefer the Bold.
I prefer the Bold and I'm only 5'2" 126 lbs. It all depends on your girl. I love taking pics, but not as much as I love my internet. And since I have 3G in my area, I'm using it to the fullest. I did put it in a pink case, and I'm about to order gold housing for it.
