    i don't believe 27th.

it would be dumb to hold a press conference and release it 4 weeks later.... the hype will be dead.

While not the best date...is kinda acceptable in my books.

I've always said if I can have a device before March 1, 2013 I'd be happy.

    Bell knows .... all.
RIM is hopefully smart enough to not put it for $799...

This doesn't look right, and I have one theory why it won't be: because neither pricing nor availability have been confirmed, this SKU has been entered in Best Buy's inventory system as a placeholder with deliberately inaccurate data, which will be adjusted after the official launch.

I don't think that that is the price. It's the price in the system for Best Buy, sure, but these types of stores, mark up to mark down, giving a higher perceived value to the customer. Seeing as Bell themselves put the approx value of the phone at $700 for their contest, I don't buy this news.

As for the release date, that is for Best Buy, not everyone. Who knows what other stores, and carriers, have agreed to or have worked out. Some, I'm sure, will be sooner, and some will be later.

I agree. its weird that the placeholder is 799.99$ though. Usually it would be 0 or 999999999999

Month after "launch" and $799 price?!?! Wow they truly better have some mind blowing features in these phones to justify the wait and the price.

That's pretty late in the month. Aren't some folks already carrying production devices? I don't see why it wouldn't be available within a week after the launch date.

and RIM has stated that multiple BES customers are using final hardware.

I still think all shipping dates are up to carriers with end of the month being the last option.

I thought RIM had mentioned the platform release in January and later the devices. So Bell could be right for the devices. They probably are waiting to have a good stock on hand before releasing them.
