Bold 9650 for work. Bold 9930 for personal. Sounds completely ridiculous and can't put my finger on why but I speak the truth.

I've used Storm 1, Tour, Bold and Q10, but the Classic is the best BlackBerry ever made.

I've got a Passport too and my only gripe is that it really isn't possible (for me) to do anything one handed. Also it is a chunk in a pocket.

Although I've owned a number of Blackberries, my favorite has to have been the Bold 9700. (Admittedly, a device that surprised me at how much I subconsciously loved it was the Torch 9800.)

I would say my Bold 9780. At that time, you still had a lot of apps available for BlackBerries.

As a handset, the passport is probably better, but the total lack of apps made for it (bb10 + square screen) is unbearable.

The 9000 was a great phone. I still have all of my old ones and I still like the 9700 best. I think my 9900 and Passport are crying right now.

The Classic. I love the tool belt. I love answering calls using a button instead of a slider. I love using the browser using the cursor instead of touch.
I'd be with you on that if the Classic didn't have so many flaws that can't be ignored. The cheap clicking tool belt buttons, the cheap feeling keys (felt like they'd break off with use for sure), the weak battery life, the yellowish screen and the lag lag lag with any android app. It could be the perfect phone if they hadn't cheaped out so much with it. Like would it really have killed them to update the internals beyond the Q10 from two years prior? It was the same exact phone with worse build quality, an lcd screen and a tool belt.

I am not sure if your specific Classic might have had a few blemishes quality wise but mine is solid. The build quality on a lot of Classic's is known to be very high.

I will concur with you that the toolbelt does feel a little more durable on the Bold 9900 than it does on the Classic.

BlackBerry did need to outsource some of the production of the Classic due to their financial situation at the time. They needed to get the cost of the device as low as possible in order to make the production run and the device business profitable. It was a unique selling product cause the goal was to upgrade existing legacy BBOS users onto BlackBerry 10 but that meant they were also losing the service revenue that carried with it 80% margin.

As for the internals of the device and it's specs, everybody does agree it could benefit from higher specs that way it would perform more tasks, last longer and been in production for a longer time. One of the reasons for the elimination of the production was a lack of its specific internals.

As for the specs and internals used, BlackBerry was between a rock and a hard place. The Q10/Z10 didn't sell enough and the previous management decided to sign purchase contracts for parts in the millions. Those parts needed to be purchased and paid for one way or another so the plan was to sell Classic, Leap and Passport models using similar internals to earlier BlackBerry 10 devices.

The financial reality of the company was that they were in rough shape in a lot of ways. I don't agree with all the decisions but they were made while the company was losing hundreds of millions of dollars on a quarterly basis, the survival of the company was at stake.

Just my thoughts using one of my favorite BlackBerry devices, the Classic!

However I do also really like the Leap, and would probably like the Z30 too since it's similar
