I have updated the Facebook native app form BBW.I think this is not an update, is only an app delete and replacing it with an web shortcut. The account was deleted after and automatic logout. This app in now useless. I have already deleted. It's a very bad news for BB10 fans.

Came here to say this. Down and buried.
I think Nemory's version of the app kinda got them to go down this path. Still, not an excuse.

It's a reflection from bbry's state of mind...
They never gave **** about 'loyal' customers so they won't give a thing about them now.
    Really really really unhappy...

Fb uses private API for platforms other than ios and droid and did not give BlackBerry access to this API.

That's awful, I'm glad I saw this post before checking for updates. It says it will stop working on March 31st but we'll see. I won't update in the meantime, because the current FB app is actually useable for me for messaging and group chats purposes.

Still nemory (on his own) managed to make a great FB app for bb10.
So why wouldn't it be possible for BlackBerry?

Might be because it could be a waste of time....

Do you know for sure that Face10 will work after the 31st?
Do you know for sure that FaceBook isn't moving in the same direction as SNAPCHAT?

Cobalt was able to give us Google Play... but that doesn't mean that BlackBerry could legally create the same access. Might be that FaceBook just has officially pulled the API or is changing them and not giving BlackBerry permission to use them.

That's too bad. The hub integration was pretty good too, but that was the only good thing about that app. I use the mobile site and its sufficient at least for me. It's a good thing I don't use Facebook that much.

The real kicker... is I bet BlackBerry was notified/knew about this a long time ago. They just choose to wait as long as possible to comply, and thus make users aware of yet another BB10 shortcoming.

API, ShmaPI. BlackBerry's Facebook app was pretty much a gimped version of the mobile site anyway. This is such a weak excuse for screwing over bb10 users.

BlackBerry could only use the horrendously poor public Facebook APIs. And now even those are gone.

What is BlackBerry to do? How would you handle it?

Certainly not wait until the last minute then give your users an "upgrade" that is nothing more than a browser shortcut and the removal of their contacts.

So you wouldn't have waited till the last minute? Because they don't really have any other solution beyond the mobile Web page.

Because Nemory is a small dev, who reverse-engineered the API and the app uses the API illegally. Just like the case of iGrann.

Just a sign that EOL for BlackBerry 10 is a reality. Why would anyone even buy a PRIV at this point? The writing is on the wall with the hardware division as a whole.

As limited as Facebook for BB10 was, the fact that it was part of Hub's integration made it quite useful for people who want to use FB Messenger instead of text messaging, which is more invasive. Now I've spent the past half hour messaging my contacts who primarily use FB Messenger to contact me. I'm a university prof and students often tell me how surprised and pleased they are at my lightning-fast replies to them; as of today, that's been negatively impacted.

Only hope it doesn't move me from my passport as well when I see how proper apps work.

The major problem with BB10 is lack of apps. This is a fact. Facebook itself does not have a native BB10 app. However, the BB10 purist, argue that they don't need apps. You would rather use the browser. You got what you asked for. Who says BlackBerry doesn't listen. This list of apps pulling out of Blackberry is growing... And you asked for it...
