Facebook now fully owns WhatsApp, adds Jan Koum to board of directors | MobileSyrup.com

With Facebook wanting to have their own IM wouldn't be no surprise if WhatApps becomes that.

Well unless they modify whatsapp to enable you to use it with a facebook account instead of your phone number, I doubt they can fully replace their messenger, as many people do not wish to link their number to their facebook account.

It's going to be interesting watching how facebook plans to tackle the integration of whatsapp.

The investors would not want them to be run separately.

It's all about making more money now that they are publicly traded.

It's only a matter of time before WhatsApp data is merged with Facebook data.
