I have the luxury of owning an iPhone 5, iPod Touch 5 and a Blackberry Z10. As a professional (creative) user of Apple OSX products, I am notoriously "update shy", due to Apple's unyielding mandate to "move forward" and their professional third party applications chronic "out-of-the-one-infinite-loop" status. Nevertheless, my iPhone 5 is on iOS 7, and my iPod 5 is on iOS 6. It's abundantly evident how far ahead Blackberry 10-10.1 is from iOS 6, but the new mobile software from Apple has made some significant progress with modern UI design and functionality. In spite of the Apple "home button" handicap, their "pull-up" function bar is now way more useful than the BlackBerry 10 equivalent and their use of narrower font stylings, gyroscopic 3-D and transparency effects has allowed their OS to once again jump ahead in terms of elegance and modernity... (Don't get me started on the ******* **** BB10, not quite Android, not quite Apple, not at all like the badass square Icons first proposed app tray). Regardless, the good people over at BlackBerry Sweden are abundantly talented and future forward and I'm super stoked to see the innovations upcoming in terms of UI design for BlackBerry 10.3. Blackberry already has the advantage of gesture supremacy, and once the 10.3 coat of paint dries I firmly believe it will once again be the leading mobile OS, not just in terms of functionality, but in sheer beauty as well.

I'm thinking that BlackBerry is copying another manufacture and is going to stick with 10.X for a while....... they have too much invested in the BB10 name. They just need to give each version a powerful animal name

10.3 is coming next year.

I think from now on our updates will be 10.2.x until BlackBerry Sweden finishes10.3

Garry Klassen (inventor of BBM) moved to Sweden a month or 2 ago to head up the 10.3 team.

BlackBerry should (must) focus on new user experience and UI. The current UI is nice and professional but it looks too plain when compared to the competition. BlackBerry should open up instead of holding back to its old style design. Even IOS has a new look. Come on they have TAT, better use them properly before the rest of the creative team flee from BlackBerry.

No Bold is right, I am with him on this one. We saw leaks and videos of 10.2 when 10.1 was fresh on the market. As of right now we have not seen any roadmap, leaks or anything regarding 10.3 so I am doubtful it will even come

I didn't want to do this.... but I see it is incumbent on me to show you . From an experience perspective I need to incorporate the new hardware also.
Version 10.3.1.2014 includes
BBM MD (multi dimensional)
Essentially 3d BBM video. Achieved by using a radius, or slightly curved screen 3 layers thick with offset matrices and a facial tracking sensor that gives "thickness" to the video displayed. The Triple camera system provides depth and realism unseen before on a portable device, let alone a phone.
Retaining the natural sound setup but enhanced with spatial recognition. Once again, a 3d effect for your ears.
