I'lI go into more detail when I have more time but I was wondering if anyone had any info on this OS...
Unfortunately I dropped and broke my Z10 and descided to go on ebay and purchase an "unlocked new blackberry Z10". Finally got it in the mail today. When I turned it on, you will see what I saw, the phone seems to be in an engineering test mode. I was just wondering if this phone is usable and can I flash it and give it the newest OS?

    Thanks
    Andre

The hardware signatures won't validate the OS signatures if you try a different OS. BlackBerry 10 is all you'll be able to install.

I dont really care what OS I have, I just want a functional one. I looked into getting autoloader but it asks me what version of the z10 I have... How can I find out if this is a STL100-1 or other model? I did try and load 10.3.1.997 and now the phone wont boot up...

In the backbone your phone you should see the STL remove battery.
Also is it being detected by BlackBerry link?
    By the computer at all?
Try starting it by pressing both volume and power buttons at the same time.

This looks like a test OS installed by a Blackberry repair shop. It's small size OS just to test it's hardware. Once everything passes, the repair shop installs the proper consumer OS. I've seen this setup on the early alpha devices. If possible, from the upper left screen, use your finger to scroll across to the lower corner. Either a menu or more information can pop up if an early test OS.

For the repair shop to never install a functional OS, it could mean that the Z10 may have failed on part of it's hardware test.
